The island is a tranquil oasis in the midst of the city. The museum displays the traditional Finnish way of life in the cottages, farmsteads and manor of the past four centuries. The buildings have been relocated from all around Finland and for this reason Seurasaari is also known as ‘rural Finland in miniature.’
You can sample some treats from the museum café and pay a visit to the renovated museum shop where you will find unique souvenirs and products inspired by the museum.
In the summer months, the Seurasaari Open-Air Museum hosts events and workshops for the entire family.
The open-air museum is closed on June 24th due to the Midsummer Bonfires -event.
The museum will be open in 2023 from May 15th to September 15th.
